Best Month Yet (17 January 2021)

I'm grateful to announce that January of this year has been the busiest for the books so far, by a small margin. All with new work on promotional covers being on the backburner since October. I've chosen a new song from the books - learning it on the piano, then recording and uploading will be my aim for the remainder of January, just to keep the year starting off with a bang.

Just me and keyboard. A lot of lessons learned for my first time, sound is not ideal and the camera angle neither, but many more to come to rectify these things.

Second Cover ("Coma Black" by Marilyn Manson) Uploaded (18 September 2020)

This time I went with piano and vocals only. Something a bit more upbeat is definitely on the cards for my next selection.

It took a long time to finally get around to finishing, and I'm still very much learning about music production as I go, but finally my first 'promotional' cover is uploaded. I have a solid idea which song I would like to do next as well.

Third Book Uploaded (4 June 2020)

I've just uploaded my third book in the rock series, "Songbook For Deep Voices: Book 3" and overall. There was a slight delay due to another writing project I was pursuing during Coronavrius lockdown, but about two weeks later than intended, it's finally out. Another 130 songs to choose from.

I'm very proud of my research across the three books. In addition to all the songs I researched that didn't end up being suited, ultimately finding the 390 total songs and writing small blurbs about my impressions of them in how they relate to my books was definitely a thoughtful and careful process.

The material being out is of course only the beginning. My instinct in there being a market for this particular topic seems to have been proven right. There's been a tiny (still encouraging!) trickle of interest just on topic-interest alone. My focus for the foreseeable will now be promotion, including getting my first of many planned covers finished and uploaded. Hopefully at a slightly quicker rate than I actually wrote the books, but aiming to produce with high quality and doing the original songs, myself and the books proud.

First Cover Recording Underway (19 April 2020)

The underlying guitar part for my first cover I'm recording in the pursuit of promoting my book is finished. Vocals are to follow shortly, followed by any supporting instrumentation I haven't fully worked out yet.
